Soy Oil
Oils are added to the equine diet to increase energy density without adding bulk. Not only is it calorically dense, but oils are also useful in cleaning up a horse’s coat and adding the shine you desire. Studies have shown the addition of oil in a horse’s diet to increase the flexibility of hooves and to be considered “calm energy” as it won’t cause a hot-head or overly excited horse.
From the KER research library: "Compared to other plant oils, soy oil provides a moderate ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids; more favorable than corn oil, but possibly less than canola oil." KER also shares that, "soy oil contains very little phytoestrogen, and should not be of any concern to horse owners."
