Reduced Starch for Growing Horses

Edge 14

A revolutionary new series of feeds supported by Edge Technology, such as Edge 14, shows recent research breakthroughs. Research shows that feeds with high levels of cereal grains result in an exceptionally high glucose level 2-4 hours after eating. Insulin produced during starch (cereal grain) digestion may hinder proper skeletal development and integrity.

Edge Technology-based products are formulated using “superfibers” which are digested as fiber in the cecum, but have the unique ability to provide readily accessible forms of digestible energy, equivalent to 90% the value of oats. These sources are paired with vegetable oil—2 ¼ times more energy-dense than cereal grains. Edge 14 is fortified with Stamm 30, the mechanism for providing bioavailable sources of critical micronutrients to the mature and developing horse.

Feeding Instructions

Edge 14 is designed to be fed at 6-18 pounds per day depending on the horse’s size, body condition, stage of development or reproductive stage. When fed as directed, additional protein, vitamin or mineral supplements are unnecessary. Always provide clean, fresh water and high quality hay.
