Derek Braun

Derek was in the tack by seven years old and in less than a decade had become one of the most premier junior riders in America after gold medal finishes at several prestigious junior national championships - the the BET/USET Talent Search Equitation Finals, the National Junior Jumper Championships, and the Prix De States at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show.

In 2003, Derek traveled to Holland where he came home victorious in the Amateur Grand Prix of Valkenswaard. In 2007, immediately after graduating from college, Derek turned professional and founded Split Rock Farm. As a professional rider, he has earned numerous grand prix victories and placings.

His global experience as an international rider combined with experience as a horse show producer has given him a unique insight to transform the American Show Jumping experience.  As such, in 2015, Derek brought to life the Split Rock Jumping Tour in Lexington, KY where he hosted two international competitions: The Lexington International and the Bourbon International to great success and raised the bar for competitive show jumping in the U.S.
